Reminds me of this VLOG that I did a few weeks back:
The reality is that the longer I do the things that I do the more I realize how much absolute bullshit there is out there. Complete and utter nonsense and noise, superficial and useless.
In fact, I fall prey to this all the time – I find myself rabbit-holing down into some topic and 20, 30 minutes later… an hour later… I’ll come up for breath and realize that I’ve just wasted a ton of time.
That feeling is the worst feeling of the day, bar-none. I hate wasting time. And the worst pieces of content are the ones around saving and optimizing time! The irony runs so deep.
I mean, how many hours of our lives have we spent reading about how others “save” and “maximize” their time through GTD-like systems only to realize that we’re only marginally better at doing it ourselves? I’m guilty as charged.
And, longer hours aren’t the solution. In fact, it has the opposite effect. You’re tired, more depressed, you feel more backed up and you get less done.
Less time reading about how everyone else magically gets shit done and it’s time for us to just get to work. That includes writing and reading this blog post.
Have a great one folks. You can do it.
