Texas State University – San Marcos

With nearly $300 billion in donations in 2010, it’s easy to measure the success of higher education donation campaigns. After all, substantial education donations often aid colleges in numerous areas, whether it be a scientific breakthrough or an improvement to a student’s general way of life. And Texas State University-San Marcos was no different. But their Pride in Action Campaign website was in need of a little sprucing up.

Pioneer Surgical

In an industry worth more than $14 billion and still growing, it’s safe to say that the orthopedic surgical instrument and implant industry isn’t slowing down any time soon. In fact, it’s projected to gross nearly $22 billion in 2012, almost doubling in revenue in just one year. And for nearly 20 years, Pioneer Surgical has grown alongside it. Founded in 1992 in the garage of a local surgeon, Pioneer has since expanded into more than 300 employees worldwide. Their strong commitment to innovation has resulted in over 130 U.S. and foreign patents and kept them at the forefront of spinal and orthopedic surgical solutions. But with all of their growth and innovative breakthroughs, Pioneer did not have a way to distribute important product information to customers online.

Texas State Teachers Association

For more than 130 years, the Texas State Teachers Association has been working to empower public education. Their estimated 3.2 million members have worked continuously to protect public education employees, cultivate student knowledge and improve the future of public education in Texas. Over the years, the TSTA has been instrumental in a number of legislative measures such as child labor laws, mandatory schooling, civil rights, statewide teacher salaries, the Teacher Retirement system and more. But, at over 10 years old, the tsta.org site no longer reflected TSTA’s legislative stature or conveyed a strong interactive presence. And while educational reform was quickly becoming a hot-bed issue in the legislature, the TSTA needed a tool to help them revitalize their look and dominate the educational stratosphere.

Dovetail Software

For more than 15 years, Dovetail Software has been providing customer service and support software solutions to a network of global 1000 enterprises. Their comprehensive selection of software solutions not only focuses on customer service and support, but reduces the overall cost and complexity of supporting complex product and service environments. But dovetailsoftware.com did not reflect the company’s technical stature or their ability to stay on top of industry trends. And while Dovetail’s products consistently dominated the service and support market, their website appeared fragmented and out of touch with consumers.

Audiotoniq

With over 36 million Americans experiencing some degree of hearing loss every year, it’s surprising that the hearing aid industry isn’t congested with more products. Plagued by limited availability and high prices, the hearing aid industry once offered little hope to those who suffer from all four degrees of hearing loss. In 2009, a group of engineers and entrepreneurs in Austin decided to fight back with an unconventional and advanced hearing option that could drastically improve the quality of consumers’ every day lives. Audiotoniq was born, and all they needed was a website.

University of Texas Giving

UT wanted to merge the Giving and Campaign sites into one comprehensive site that housed all the different schools of education and fundraising initiatives. Since UT provided the design, we got to work building a flexible, content-manageable site that would drive donations, reach out to potential donors and support each of UT’s fundraising platforms.

Javelina Pride

Texas A&M University – Kingsville wanted to show the world what life was like on their campus through the people that spend the most time there. They wanted to build an online video blogging community where students and teachers could share real-life experiences about what classrooms were really like, where to get the best pizza in town and uncensored opinions on dorms, dining and the rest of the TAMUK scene.

Austin Humane Society

With over 3,000 pets placed a year, it’s safe to say that the Austin Humane Society’s dog-and-cat operation has given thousands of new best friends over the years. They receive an astonishing 32,000 visitors each year while more than 600 volunteers work tirelessly to find good pet homes, educate the community and raise money for the organization. But austinhumanesociety.org did not reflect the shelter’s whimsical tenants or provide the high-level functionality needed to engage users and establish a digital presence. And while AHS excelled at animal placement and man power, they lacked the interactive stature to reach adopters online.

Serenity Creek Medspa

With over 10 million surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures performed in the US last year, and nonsurgical procedures making up 85% of the 10 million, it’s easy to see the rising popularity of cosmetic procedures performed at medical spas in the US. And with numerous medical spas popping up all over Austin, Serenity Creek Medspa wanted a website and brand identity that set them apart from everyone else.

Gatti’s Pizza

Pixeldust put a lot of digital mojo into gattisjingle.com. Utilizing a musician’s flyer feel, we designed and developed a clean microsite that would ultimately serve as a bridge for the 40th anniversary, remind Austinites that Gatti’s started in Austin, and generate excitement and interest among new and existing customers. And they wanted to conquer social media.

Johnson Controls

Johnson Controls is a global leader in automotive experience, building efficiency and power solutions. They provide innovative automotive interiors, products and services that optimize energy use, and batteries for automobiles and hybrid-electric vehicles. They have 140,000 employees in more than 1,300 locations serving customers in 125 countries. That translates to a lot of people reading their annual Business and Sustainability Report. But the delivery of the report was not done in an eco-friendly way.

Macaroni Grill

Pixeldust worked with Firehouse to help bring Brinker International’s new campaign to life. Pixeldust designed the creative concept for Macaroni Grill’s new national Chef’s Trio campaign, which offered a three-course meal for only $19.99. Pixeldust also developed rich media Flash-based banners, created layouts and produced several email blasts, and built a comprehensive landing page.

Smart Foods Healthy Kids

Kelly Corbet came to us with an idea for a site that would allow her to teach parents how to create healthier families with healthy living video classes and audio feeds, recipes, healthiness and allergy articles, a weekly e-newsletter and regular blogs from accredited doctors, nutritionists and Kelly herself. She also requested an e-commerce store to sell DVDs and CDs of her classes. Pixeldust designed and developed a Joomla CMS-driven site with a custom shopping cart and subscription application that was both quick and cost-effective. Pixeldust provided a complete custom look and feel with a robust commerce system to suit the needs of SFHK for years to come.

The re-invention of this architectural masterpiece has created a plush haven where guests can retreat from the bustling streets of downtown Austin.

Hellas Ranch Division

Pixeldust designed and developed a Flash-based website to coincide with the launch of Hellas Construction’s Colorado-based Ranch Construction division. Hellas wanted a site conveying the beauty of the Colorado landscape in a sleek interface. Relying purely on images to convey Hellas’ message, Pixeldust took an “earth and sky” approach to the interface design and color palette to really sell the vast beauty of Colorado. Flash was used to build the site with a realistic book effect allowing users to turn the pages of the site by clicking and dragging as if it were a real photo album.
