rfp-robotRFP ROBOT: Website Request for Proposal Generator

The time has come for a new website (or website redesign), which means you need to write a website request for proposal or web RFP. A Google search produces a few examples, but they vary wildly and don’t seem to speak really to your goals for developing or redesigning a new website. You need to write a website RFP that will clearly articulate your needs and generate responses from the best website designers and developers out there. But how?

Have no fear, RFP Robot is here. He will walk you through a step-by-step process to help you work through the details of your project and create a PDF formatted website design RFP that will provide the information vendors need to write an accurate bid. RFP Robot will tell you what info you should include, point out pitfalls, and give examples.

7 Essential New Facebook Ad Features to Experiment with ASAP

Facebook’s been busy. While short-sighted people squabble over nothing, Facebook has been quietly rolling out new stuff that continues to make them an indispensable part of a marketer’s arsenal. Facebook’s custom audiences and ability to match data points with user information has been virtually untouchable. Albeit, limited.  Not anymore. The true underlying power isn’t in the feature per se. But in how you’re able to leverage it to work with all of the other activities, campaigns, and promotions you’re currently running in multiple channels. An SVG That Isn’t All… SVG

SVG is absolutely a vector graphics format. But it’s more than that. You can set type in it. You can place raster graphics in it. There is interactivity and animation. It’s more like a multimedia graphics format. Over on the Media Temple blog, I walk through the creation of a multimedia graphic to show off some of those possibilities. See the Pen SVG is a cross-medium format! by Chris Coyier (@chriscoyier) on CodePen. If we get SVG 2, it’ll be even more multimedia with the inclusion of audio, video, canvas, and more. If you’d like to make SVG more of a part of you day-do-day workflow, and I suggest you do, pick up a copy of Practical SVG. Under-exploited HTML5 Features

Inspired Magazine Inspired Magazine – creativity & inspiration dailyHTML5 brought web development into a new era.  Unfortunately, many designers haven’t really caught on to its full potential, and actually are developing HTML4 pages with a simplified doctype and header section.  Looking at the source code, unless it is written by somebody who never worked in HTML4 or XHTML, you would often easily mistake it for HTML4 because those designers aren’t changing their style. This is a tremendous shame because HTML5 really does give us some fantastic improvements over HTML4. If we really push those improvements to their limit, the results would more than justify the small investment of time required to learn how to do that.In this article, we’ll go over some of the biggest improvements HTML5 has to offer (and which, in general, are being ignored by designers and developers), with some information on how you can put them to…
