You need to write a website RFP that will clearly articulate your needs and generate responses from the best website designers and developers out there. But how?

Have no fear, RFP Robot is here. He will walk you through a step-by-step process to help you work through the details of your project and create a PDF formatted website design RFP that will provide the information vendors need to write an accurate bid. RFP Robot will tell you what info you should include, point out pitfalls, and give examples.

ACSF + Lift: How to Prepare for the Future of Content and Site Management

This is part one of a four part series on Acquia Cloud Site Factory and Acquia Lift. You can no longer think of your website as a summary of what your organization has to offer; it’s less about you — your products, services, etc. — and more about the experience you are creating for your customers via unique, personalized content. If you are to succeed, you need to break out of the traditional website experience and focus on the digital experience. There’s no shortage of open source and proprietary software that aims to make it easier to build sites and manage a proliferation of content. Some also make it easy to deliver and govern a large number of websites in your organization. Enterprises and brands are increasingly focused on other types of digital experiences beyond the website or mobile site. Many digital experience platform vendors have struggled with this; it’s…

Making a splash, 2017 German Drupal Awards

Hamburg, March 15, 2017 – Members of the German Drupal community — contributors, service providers, end users — came together to celebrate their successes in 2016 with the world’s leading open source content management system and application platform at the 2017 German Splash Awards. Compared to many other countries, Drupal is not especially well known here; the German CMS landscape has long been dominated by other players. The funny thing is that there is a lot of Drupal going on in Germany — great sites and projects made for pillar of the German economy, government bodies, and more — but until now, nobody has really talked about it much. People are pragmatic here and my best guess is that they figure good projects and results will speak for themselves. It’s time to change that and the German Splash Awards are a step in the right direction. Adding “professional” to “community” We talk about community a lot in Drupal…

Georgia.Gov: Five Years with Drupal

Between applying for a business license or arranging to take a driving test, almost every citizen in Georgia interacts with the suite of sites at some point in their lifetime. But before 2011, rapidly increasing operation costs, major editorial inefficiencies, and low user conversion rates hindered the state’s 45 agencies from effectively serving their citizens. Five Years with Drupal The Georgia Technology Authority teamed up with Phase2 to move 55 websites from a proprietary system hosted at the state’s data center to a Drupal platform hosted in the cloud. Five years later, Director Nikhil Deshpande of GTA discussed Georgia’s return on investment at DrupalCon New Orleans: Platform Operational Costs Declined by 65% One of the major successes discussed in Nikhil’s talk was an operational budget that declined from $1.5 million in 2012, to $513,000 in 2015 – a 65% reduction in operational costs! Multisite Governance, Site Delivery, and Other Issues Related to Managing Many Sites: Part 4

This is Part 4 of an interview with Will Eisner, Senior Director, Product at Acquia. Will’s primary focus is on Acquia Cloud Site Factory, which helps organizations create and manage many sites, from a dozen to thousands. In Part 1 and Part 2, Will discussed how companies often discover, to their dismay, that they are running their hundreds of Web sites on many different hard-to-manage platforms; and how Site Factory addresses that problem with a managed delivery that uses a common platform with standard components, provisioning, and lifecycle management. In Part 3 Will covered how managing many sites is becoming the norm, and how more people now have website responsibilities, and how that leads to the need for new tools like Content Hub. The part that follows explores the differences between Drupal and Site Factory; what Site Factory offers the “Digital Platform Owner;” and tools it contains for coders and…
