rfp-robotRFP ROBOT: Website Request for Proposal Generator

The time has come for a new website (or website redesign), which means you need to write a website request for proposal or web RFP. A Google search produces a few examples, but they vary wildly and don’t seem to speak really to your goals for developing or redesigning a new website. You need to write a website RFP that will clearly articulate your needs and generate responses from the best website designers and developers out there. But how?

Have no fear, RFP Robot is here. He will walk you through a step-by-step process to help you work through the details of your project and create a PDF formatted website design RFP that will provide the information vendors need to write an accurate bid. RFP Robot will tell you what info you should include, point out pitfalls, and give examples.

Mattress Pro

Pixeldust’s challenge was to build an elegant and scalable site giving Mattress Pro an equal presence to Sealy and other large mattress manufacturers. Pixeldust designed a brand-new identity and sleek interface that incorporated Flash and a content management system. The overall result proved to be a huge success: the website played a big role in Mattress Pro’s successful merger negotiations with Mattress Firm.

State Farm Insurance and Steve Harvey

Pixeldust worked with Sanders/Wingo to concept and build three interactive pieces for them to present to State Farm.  Pixeldust created the concepts and wrote the scripts for the three pieces, including an animated Flash movie, a Flash-based screen saver and a cartoon. All featured comedian Steve Harvey.  Pixeldust developed the creative and Flash production for the pieces. With offices in El Paso and Austin, Sanders/Wingo provides multicultural advertising and public relations services using emerging technologies and marketing platforms. State Farm Insurance offers coverage for auto, life, home, health, and more all over the United States

Mariposas Spanish School

Mariposas is a hands-on, thematically organized program that allows children ages 3-8 to learn Spanish through music, literature, games, visual aids, sign language, art and beyond. Pixeldust updated the interface and converted the site from static flash to data-driven based on Text Pattern (a PHP/MySQL-based Drupal CMS) with flash embedded.

Pixeldust worked with McGarrah Jessee an Austin based advertising agency, to develop a series of interactive banner advertisements for the Whataburger. A Charming Example of How to Get Fired Through Facebook

Ahh social networking. Sometimes users are in such a hurry to vent through a status update that they don’t stop to remember who’s going to see it. And if you happen to say something negative about someone or something, the situation can quickly turn ugly.

Cielo Wind Power

Austin Humane Society

With over 3,000 pets placed a year, it’s safe to say that the Austin Humane Society’s dog-and-cat operation has given thousands of new best friends over the years. They receive an astonishing 32,000 visitors each year while more than 600 volunteers work tirelessly to find good pet homes, educate the community and raise money for the organization. But austinhumanesociety.org did not reflect the shelter’s whimsical tenants or provide the high-level functionality needed to engage users and establish a digital presence. And while AHS excelled at animal placement and man power, they lacked the interactive stature to reach adopters online.

Created by a team out of Sydney, Australia, the main concept of Google Wave is to unify communication on the web. And although it’s invite-only right now (there’s still some beta testing going on), it should get easier in the coming weeks to snag an invite.
