Pixeldust is pleased to announce our Gatti’s Jingle Microsite won a silver award in the Micro/Mini-sites category at the Regional American Ad Federation Awards (ADDY Awards).

Founded in 1960, the ADDY Awards are the advertising industry’s largest competition recognizing creative excellence and the very best advertising worldwide. Sponsored by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the ADDY Awards represent the true creative spirit of advertising by recognizing all forms of advertising, from all types of media, created by all sizes and types of entrants from anywhere in the world. With over 60,000 annual entries, the AAF conducts the ADDY® Awards through its 200 member advertising clubs and 15 districts.

The competition consists of three levels of judging: local, regional (or district) and national. It is the only creative awards program administered by the advertising industry for the industry. Pixeldust’s win at the regional level qualifies us to move on to the national competition, which will take place on June 12, 2010.

Pixeldust worked with Nice Monster and Ampersand Agency to develop the microsite and help Gatti’s Pizza update their jingle with a public jingle contest that featured a $10,000 grand prize.

Pixeldust built a CakePHP/MySQL based application that allows users and musicians to upload their own audio or video versions of the long-time Gatti’s jingle. Users can listen to the entries, make comments, rate and vote for their favorite entries. Entries can be “shared” across most social media sites and mobile devices. The application also features an administrative area that provides moderation tools for entries, voting, comments and registration.
