You’re So Going Down: The Pixeldust Bi-annual Rock Paper Scissors Contest

That’s right folks–it’s that time of year again where fists will tremble, the air will be laced with sweet smell of victory, and the theme music to the opening sequence of Teen Wolf can be heard faintly in the background. I’m talking about the Pixeldust Bi-annual Rock Paper Scissors Contest.

At stake? A much-coveted copy of one unopened edition of WordPerfect 2005. No applause needed.

rps-dice-2As most of you probably remember from two years ago, the reigning champ also gets one hour of non-interrrupted video game time accompanied by a delicious vegan breakfast taco and tye-dyed pencil with his/her name on it. Pretty sweet set up, if I say so myself.

So who was the last man/woman standing?  Our own Jon “Slap Happy” Roberts just barely came out ahead of Erik “Pixel This” Potter after 17 nail-biting and sweaty rounds.

“I lifted some free weights and did the best I could to stay hydrated,” said Roberts when asked how he prepared for the event. “I also practiced in front of my bathroom mirror a lot and I think that helped with my confidence.”

“What can I say–the best contestant won today,” said Potter when asked how he was feeling about his runner-up status. “He was able to come up with the goods when I couldn’t. I’ll have to train better and show what I can do for the 2011 match-up.”

Pixeldust would like to thank all our participants and take a moment of silence for our own Mick Southerland who injured his ankle while performing his third round victory dance. Our thoughts are with you.

Check back regularly for all Pixeldust updates, contests and other musings. And remember, when in doubt, always throw rock.
